Even if the computer in question was developing problems -- as opposed to the
OS starting to go bad -- that image predates the problems. We are also
fortunate to have a near-identical desktop rig that was built at the same time,
which has sat mostly unused for the last few years.
I'm glad to get your comments on this, Manuel. Kari always has good insight on
these things too. If Ed M. or Harry or Flash have anything to say on the
subject, I will welcome their input as well. I think there must be a working
path to a solution for this. I just need to chart the best course.

As usual, you're right. Jordan needs a working computer and the XP
Acrois image could be hardware dependent...
By the way: my first XP virtual machine was a VirtualBox one.
Afterwards, I imported that virtual machine from Parallels and, later,
the Parallels virtual machine was copied to another computer and
accepted by a differente (older) version of Parallels.
