Dear Maria, By your vision "Education is the key to build a Harmonious World", I think you got to unveil the principles that guide the actors in the educational success. Educational success requires a comprehensive approach to child, youth and family and is based on a shared educational project based on multidisciplinary actions. To this end, the actors of educational success are committed to the following principles of action: Apprehend the child and the young in a global approach The actors take into account all aspects of the situation and the child's environment or youth. They put their actions in line and act in a complementary manner. Caring, well-being, individual and group counseling, recovery of successes rather than failures stigma and enhancing self-esteem are at the heart of the shares of educational success. Social and economic situations of the children and families being unequal, the actors of educational success is particularly mobilized in favor of those who most need attention and support. Mobilize children, youth and their families Children and young people are full participants in their success. Their participation is to seek and express their expectations to be taken into account. The recognition and involvement of parents and families are essential. They require a proactive approach in their direction. Adapt to every child and young The actors of educational success are mobilizing to all educational places more inclusive, adapting to the difficulties of every child and young person, whether temporary or lasting (children and youth with disabilities, sick, allophones newcomers, etc.). Promote openness to the world The actors undertake to promote openness to the world for children and young people and broaden their potential. The perception of the territory must be gradually expanded to provide children and young people with mobility capability and access to all the resources needed for their development and implementation of their projects. Adopt an ethical approach The fight against all forms of discrimination and the principle of humanity guide the actors of educational success. An ethic of responsibility characterizes all educational efforts of actors in the educational success. In particular consequence respect of confidentiality within the team for information on children, youth and their families. Act with partner as part of a local steering A partnership framework should be put in which are recognized the place, role and value of each type of players. This allows, at different levels, co-educational activities, a multidisciplinary and multi-professional interventions and coordinated management. The comprehensive and continuous education is affirmed, leading each of the stakeholders to consider its place in a whole, to assert its uniqueness and to consider all other partners. The local steering must help regulate the collective work of the actors of educational success. They are committed to be part of an evaluation process. This partnership is based on mobilizing and pooling of human and financial resources and is in the context of educational policies. The scope of this partnership is variable. It depends not only on the nature of the action but also the specificities of the territory in which they are implemented. This is to better meet the needs, expectations and difficulties of children and young people the educational success actions are taking place at local level. Partnerships, coherence and continuity of actions are built at this level. The pact is intended to be declined by local people of educational success that commit to promote educational success and policies to ensure they are the subject of studies, developments and research that may contribute to the improvement of their efficiency. ________________________________ Dear Bruce, It is true ,the communication and the media are part of our daily life and education is influenced by these device which left me to think to scientifically ofintegration of ICT in our Algerian schools, before it is operated by the leaders of the violence and terrorisme. My project "Integration of ICT in Algeria. look at the deployment of the national strategy" has not found its way into my country which I don't know the causes! In addition, I participated in comparative studies on media and communications and their role in building peace: Atlanta / USA-2014, Manaziles / Colombia 2011 , Durban / South Africa -2012. In some cases the media is like the wind and fire of a forest fire which helps to spread rapidly ... Similarly with the local or international terrorism, sound and image play a big role in the transmission of fanatical ideas and recruitment. As we work for peace, I think we need to exploit inversely media and communication in the service of peace education. I think that integrating these resources will facilitate the mission of universal peace process, creating harmonious platform which meet the peaceful educational expectations. Best regards. We may establish some objectives as areas to be developed in children’s mind* The interchanging of educational and cultural values is probably the unique utensil we have, to build a new horizon of love and respect, in a harmonious and peaceful global village. Education is not a mere training, but a solid construction of a particular concept of humanity. Culture of this era overvalues success. We are greatly satisfied when we see our children grow up and reach their own financial independence. This is a good thing, but sometimes we expect from them only convenient triumphs and forget other developments, as a truth seeking thought in association with a sensitive heart. On the other side, children that live in poverty are rescued by education, because it is capable to take them from a sorrowful future of delinquency, prostitution, illness, vagrancy and drugs. Education in this sense can be a resourceful instrument to achieve an actualized morality, in the very long but passionate travel to Peace. We must include the permanent education or education of the adult, into peace education. Maria Montessori said, "The life of the populations depends on peace and perhaps progress or extinction of the entire civilization" and strongly promoted the objective of Peace in Educational sciences. Psychology teaches us that hostility is a key element in human relationship. In comparison to animals, we find that they are not disposed to antagonistic initiative if their instinct does not instruct them on an immediate forthcoming danger. Our destructive side is more virulent, somewhere installed in our brains. We are dangerous to Nature and to different species, specially our own. We must understand that education must be redirected towards self-discipline and not only towards "self-esteem" as nowadays-enthusiastic theories sustain Although in past times education was synonymous of instruction and restricted to the formation of youngsters and children by adults, education is much more than that. We may start with the definition by Littré " Education is the group of manual and intellectual habits that are accomplished, and the moral qualities that are developed." For him, education is an art more than a science. Aldus Huxley has said that the objective of education is "the guidance of young human beings towards freedom, justice and peace."We conclude that education is the development of physical and intellectual habits, willpower, emotional intelligence, and moral intelligence (moral judgment and feelings).Education endures all life and its objective is the personalization and progressive humanization of the human being. During last years, humanity has developed immense growth in technical aspects and practical sciences. Paradoxically, philosophy is only sustaining weak advances and modifications which are uniquely trying, without any success, to justify and be at the side of rushing changes at daily news referred to human life, in general. Philosophy of Education is not out of this situation. Harmonious peace is in a severe danger. A total disaster is winning the career where the looser will be not the Theorists of Education but the next generation who is not receiving any chance to be formed in good way. The sophistication of practical sciences advances is not being accompanied by a well-designed educational basis, worldwide. Modern thinkers on Education must join efforts, abandoning any care about their individual fame, seeking after harmonious peace for the entire human community, under strong moral principles where their science must be firmly set. Thank you, Bruce *Communication and Peacebuilding: The Role of Social Media and Publicity* *By Bruce L. Cook, Ph.D.* *Abstract* This study suggests that communication may constitute the new means of peacebuilding. In this light, communication can make traditional weapons of war obsolete. Such an assertion seems preposterous and idealistic, but a study of international communication finds that the seeds of this welcome transformation are already visible. In this study, communication is seen to have the potential to threaten oppressors - those seeking power for its own sake – for example, Hitler, the “Big Men” of African governance, and ISIS. This study assumes that all oppressors intimidate their subjects, using inhumane acts and journalistic censorship to engender fear and therefore submission. When the world sees that an oppressor successfully controls a large population, the oppressor thrills in commanding a feeling of universal respect, however falsely gained. This study suggests that peace will come after using peaceful methods to afflict oppressors with enough fear that they will become convinced to change their mind. At this point in studying the process, two forms of communication are seen to have a discernable effect – free expression and social media. *Free Expression*. First, as seen in the USSR after the cold war, “Glasnost” (openness) replaced censorship because it included people in the political process through freedom of expression. As a result, writers and journalists could expose news of government corruption and the depressed condition of the Soviet people. This was one means of crippling the oppressive power system which existed. This opened the culture to peaceful means of expression, justice, and means of economic production. In the same way, removal or crippling of journalistic censorship can engender fear in the oppressor, for it is essential for oppressors to have their own freedom to operate in secret. *Social Media*. The second form of communication was social media, whose effect became evident when, for example, in Iran, victims of oppression. They used the Internet to reveal the secrets of oppression employed by oppressors who, like many power-seekers, used religion as a ruse to justify their quest for power. Despite desperate efforts by the oppressors in Iran, the truth was successfully exposed via social media at a grass roots level. This move came as a blow to Iran's president, Hassan Rouhani, who was eventually forced to take a more liberal stance towards the use of social media. Both strands of communication – free expression and social media – are needed to create panic and fear in oppressors. Indeed, if the inhumane actions of oppressors are known to a worldwide audience, then the oppressors are viewed with universal disgust rather than the universal respect they thirst for. In this way, communication can undermine the oppressors without firing a shot. This study will present several current and past examples where free communication and social media have successfully presented a credible threat to those in power. It is expected that future developments in communication accessibility will prove the premise that communication can render traditional weapons obsolete. ------------------------------ End of wwpoenglish Digest V1 #19 ********************************
