Received this from my professional listserve, thought it was totally
appropriate to share with this group...looks like this guy's utube page should
be one of our shared resources...they are already doing the PSA about what to
do out there on the shared streets! I glanced at the "simple one" on "what to
do with the ped signals (the ole white, blinking red").....if the world even
understood that!!! Check it out and would be nice if we could support the

and subscribe to "Perils for Pedestrians," produced by John Wetmore. He
needs about 350 more subscribers to meet YouTube's requirements for their
Partner Program, and I think the series is worthwhile.
John has been producing this series, focused on pedestrians and their
safety and access, for -- gosh, I think it was 20 years ago that he came out
to one of our Metropolitan Washington O&M Association meetings and told us
about it. He has been "on the beat" throughout the intervening years -- I
run into him at every Transportation Research Board conference, advocating
for and learning more about pedestrians -- and I even met him at one of the
legislative hearings here in Maryland last fall!
