Kids Safety Day Debrief
Gave out lots of literature, slap bracelets.
Note from parents: Bracelets will be great for Halloween night

Intersection Updates
Dunkin’ Donuts
John did not get an update from Eric, will keep pursuing and try to send
out by email.
Hannaford/WCD
John will follow up again with DOT.
Dennis feels the street lights should be brighter.
John notes another concern: Did paving pave over the sensor lines? Will
bikes still trigger it? Can we use that marking?
Other problems
Another problem location: Trail crossing at downtown end of bridge, but
before the red light. People don’t expect crosswalk there. Move sign back?
Put icon in road?
Dennis also notes lane signage at Vallee Square eastbound is somewhat
blocked by trees. Dennis sent email to Eric.
Kim downloaded Maine DOT Crosswalk Policies and MUTCD. John proposes adding
these links to the website
T-Shirts (new topic)
Options:
1.
Self-made: Buy the shirts, buy iron-on transfers to print ourselves
2.
Contract a company to put the design on a shirt for us, $20-30.
How to pay? John recommends everyone who wants one pay for their own. All
agreed to go with the cheaper option. We will each buy our own fluorescent
yellow shirt, committee provides the transfer. T-shirts cheap at Wal-Mart,
mens section.
Offer extends to anyone in the public; they just provide us the shirt.
(Talked about offering to provide shirt for them, but tabled for now. Not
sure how to handle different sizes.)
ALL: Buy shirts and bring to next meeting.
Immersion Day Planning
No update, but would still like to do it before cold weather comes. Leelee
and Kim doing the planning.
Leelee will also try to contact Mike Conkrite in Portland again.
Question of liability if something happens. Leelee will reach out to
Angela, and Kim will check with her contacts about it as well.
Other Brief Updates
Vigil for Sherrie
Wednesday 9/26. Leelee will contact family to make sure they're okay. Kim
will contact PD to get permission, see about permits, etc
WPD Crossing Enforcement Effort
WPD enforcement effort: Can we get an update on that? John will try to
pursue with traffic control officer.
Park(ing) Day, 9/22
John will send update.
PBPAC/WSMAC City Councilor Ride, 9/30
John will send out the details again later this week.

Treasurer’s Report/Clynk Account/NetSpend Account
We have total of $27.94.
Leelee will bring more tags to next meeting. Got NetSpend info in the mail
that Kim had set up.
Update from One Westbrook meeting
John will approach BCM about translating Safe Bike Driver and Safe Walker.
