Attached is a basic edit of the bylaws we received from the Portland
Bike/Ped Advisory Committee (PBPAC), which I modified just to change the
basics for us, such as the committee and town name. I've left everything
else unchanged for now. We expressed a desire to review these at our
upcoming meeting, so I wanted to give us this starting point.
Here are some things which I suggest will need discussion:
1. Their officers are Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Past Chair.
You can read those job descriptions in the document. I think these are
pretty good, but in the past we've talked about using other terms, such as
President, VP, etc. At the very least, since we're handling money, which
they don't, we also need a Treasurer. So we will have to add that.
2. We're a smaller committee so far, so there are some references to
numbers, such as what constitutes a quorum, which we may have to fiddle
with for now.
3. Section 12, "Member Conduct", is their version of the Code of
Conduct document that we approved in August. So we'll have to decide how to
put our Code and Bylaws together.
