My 2 cents for what it’s worth.
If in doubt about visibility crossing a street after exiting a bus, the
safest thing to do would be to wait for the bus to leave before crossing the
street.
It is also important to be in a crosswalk.
Crossing the street behind a bus not in a crosswalk there is double danger.

Thanks John. I WILL look at the Metro Site. Sometimes, both Buses stop on
either side of Mechanic Street simultaneously.

1. I don't have anything to add; these things happen.
2. I'm not aware of any official guidelines about crossing in front or in back
of the bus after disembarking. As someone who has been riding the bus more in
the last year than I used to, I've wondered that too. My intuition says front
is probably better, after making eye contact with the bus driver to make sure
they see you, as that will probably make you more visible to drivers from other
directions as well. You might ask Metro if they have any safety tips about this
and other questions. Their website is https://gpmetro.org/. I don't see
anything immediately under the Rider Information section
<https://gpmetro.org/27/Rider-Information> .

I need to make 1 correction.
The 3 Joggers crossed Main Street EAST of the Sculpture Park and Diagonally
across Main Street towards the Big Apple Store. They were oblivious of any
moving Vehicular Traffic.

1. An hour ago on a bright and frosty Sunday, I was stopped at Spring & Main
Streets, facing Main, waiting for a green light. When I saw the Green Light,
one car heading E on Main went on thru on a Red Light at the same time as two
women and 1 man jogged across from Main Street west of the new Sculpture Park,
stopped for the driver running the Red Light, jogged again while talking to
each other and Crossing Main Street diagonally towards the Big Apple Store and
Gas Station while I being first in line on Spring Street had a Green Light and
had to stay stopped while the above Key stone Kops movie was playing ...
2. Metro Buses: When they stop at a designated Metro Station in Downtown
Westbrook to let off Passengers : Does it make any Difference on whether
Passengers cross In FRONT of the Metro Bus or In BACK of it ? With busy Traffic
in both Directions.
Thank You,
Dennis Marrotte
