I just found about this event on Facebook. Sportsman's Hardware at William
Clark Drive & Central Street is having a Safety Day & Cookout with the
police and fire department next Sunday, 4/28, from 11 AM to 2 PM. I was
going to stop by sometime this week and give them some bicycle and
pedestrian safety handouts from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and
CyclingSavvy to make available to people. If anyone can get together a
WSMAC brochure or flyer or more business cards before then, we can ask them
to put those things out too.
I don't think it's necessary to have a staffed table, and I'm not prepared
to volunteer for that, but if others want to make the pitch and commitment,
feel free. I *will *stop by for a while, probably some time after Noon,
because free food. :-)
