Saturday March 21, 2020. I do not know What happened in front of the Bank
of America on Main Street that resulted in Engine 3 and WFD being called
there.
At 1:00PM, there was still Call Company personnel in WFD Gear, directing
And controlling Main Street Traffic 1Direction at a time East and West.
I was driving W on Main Street and at the Intersection with Church Street,
was given arm Signals to STOP. This was so E bound traffic could then be
given an Arm Signal to come thru. THE REASON FOR THE ONE WAY TRAFFIC WAS
THAT ENGINE 3 AND ANOTHER WFD ENGINE WERE BOTH IN THE WEST BOUND LANE IN
FRONT OF THE BANK OF AMERICA. I activated my 4 Way Hazard Flashers and
stopped. At that Instant, a small red car came zipping past me on my RIGHT
SIDE , then apparently finally noticed the Call Company WFD man motioning
that driver to STOP which he or she finally did.
Fortunately, today is Clear, Dry, . I Shudder to think if there was RAIN OR
SNOW COMING DOWN....
Perhaps, some temporary Sawhorse Barriers or Orange Barrels could have been
placed further back on Main Street West of the Post Office to get Driver's
Attention.
