Street ? Or the Westbrook Arterial.
And a principle artery needs to have traffic Flow moving, like a principle
artery in your body that gets clogged up and can lead to .....

William Clarke Drive is classified as "Other Principle Arterial". As such,
an exclusive pedestrian phase is not allowed as a general rule. That being
said, if pedestrian volumes were really high that could change the story.
What that number is I don't know but consider that the ped phases at
Congress and State in Portland which are lower classifications of roadways
have a concurrent phase even though the ped volume is significantly higher
than at Hannaford in Westbrook. It might make some sense for a blackout
sign at our signal similar to what we have a Main and Bridge.

If the Winter continues like the past two weeks, we do not want to have any
Pedestrians being caught in a bad situation at that Intersection, most
certainly, a young Father or Mother with children crossing WCD, with
groceries.

pedestrian signal at the crosswalk on William Clarke Drive at Hannaford
Drive. Are you able to give us any initial indication of the effort and
process involved if we wanted to advocate for that to be changed to the
type where vehicular traffic is stopped in all directions while the
pedestrian walk signal is on? (I forget the official name of that.) Thanks
