So the question for this group is, how do we change other peoples'
behavior? One idea is to promote safe behavior on Facebook. I just searched
YouTube for "safe crosswalk use" and found all sorts of things. We could
post some of them. Anyone who would like to can go right ahead. I think the
graphic designer who co-created CyclingSavvy has also produced some
crosswalk safety videos, and I've been meaning to reach out to her about
that, so I'll do that now.

Thank YOU Again, John !

With the New Year Three Days In,
I would like take this opportunity to point out a " Practice "  that We
in WSMAC should try, in a Proactive manner, to elicit Positive Change.

That is People Walking or Running Across Wiliam Clarke Drive,  at night,
usually between 6 - 8 PM,
From the Curve at the Traffic Signal Lights and the Intersection with
Captain Hartley Way  ( not sure if I have that correct ) to the East Side
of the Traffic Signal Lights and Crosswalk for Hannaford's.  No Type of
Reflective strips or flashlight at all, Dark Colored Clothes,  some will
wait for a gap in traffic or a Red Light, while  The majority just run
across spontaneously. When you see the person, it's like seeing a Ghost,
but in Dark Colored Clothes not a White Sheet ! People apparently do NOT
like activating the Pedestrian Crosswalk Controls to STOP Traffic, or they
have had one too many Close Calls at the Hannaford 's Access Road so they
go in a straight line from Main Street and Return.

Thank You.

Let's all work to continue this trend in 2019!
Are you driving under the influence of your phone?
9 fatalities and 1,000 injuries occur daily involving distracted

While there are many distractions on the road today, your mobile phone is
one of the worst offenders. Take this quiz to test your knowledge about
distracted driving and your phone.

Research shows that text messaging, which had the highest risk of over 20

equates to a driver traveling the length of a football field at 55 miles
