Subject: [wsmac] Fwd: Fewer traffic deaths in Maine is good news, but
pedestrian fatalities are on the rise

Hello Kim, John, Lee !!!

The Editorial Link below is in today's " Bangor Daily News. "   An ironic
Paradox...

Just today, at the Upgraded 4 Way Traffic Signal Controlled Intersection at
Bridge and Cumberland Streets,

for example, two observations:

1. On the slight downhill side of Bridge Street, facing Severino's Store, a
Driver was waiting for the Green Light, well beyond the Painted White STOP Bar.

2. The Driver behind that first Vehicle, turned RIGHT up Cumberland Street, on
the RED Light, despite the new LARGE Post mounted Sign:

                                                            NO RIGHT TURN

                                                               ON RED LIGHT

What has happened to Driver Responsibility ?   Pedestrians are on their Own, in
spite of new Signage, new Pedestrian Activated Marked Crosswalk Controls.
