All I will ask is that as things are discussed that the speaker be
descriptive…please avoid “over here, over there, at this, etc…be
descriptive…there will be residents attending that are blind/visually
impaired…I’ve shared the worksheet ahead with those I know who will be
attending, but hopefully there will be others in attendance and like I said,
there is a population out there that doesn’t read. Thanks for making these
considerations. Kathy

Thanks for your input, Kathy. I believe the questions will be read allowed, and
there will be a clicker orientation included in the beginning. Part of the
reason we are having note-takers in addition to the worksheets is to provide
multiple ways that people can give their feedback and input, so for folks who
the worksheet does not work for, the note-taker will be there to jot down what
folks say. Between the two, will this cover the access issues you foresee?

For the clicker questions (assuming that’s audience participation?)…if so,
please be sure to 1. Read the questions out loud 2. If orientation can be given
to the clicker when they are handed out…that would help folks who are blind/vi
participate. Thanks for the overall idea of the evening. Kathy

Hi John,
Certainly. The forum will go like this:
•Welcome: Intros, Agenda, Using Clicker Tech
•Perceptions and Realities of Pedestrian Safety- conversation and clicker
question data-gathering
•Identification and Discussion of Problem Locations- this is the break-out
activity with maps that we need note-takers for
•Prioritization Activity- real-time prioritization of locations that were
identified in the activity above.
•Next Steps
Does this help?

Sam,
Could you give us a brief summary of the agenda? It would be helpful for us
when talking to people about it. A few sentences will suffice. Thanks.
