We talked at the last WSMAC meeting about a planning meeting for the
Westbrook Safety Fair that is coming up on September 16. Bruce Wallingford
tells me that the planning meeting this Thursday (tomorrow) will be at
Hannaford, at 9:30 AM. I will be there to talk about the bike rodeo part of
it. I can represent WSMAC too, but if anyone else wants to go too, I'm sure
that will be okay.
While I'm emailing, I'll remind you of the "Westbrook SWOT Analysis"
meeting that is coming up tonight. Some of you have already indicated your
intention to attend on the Facebook event. It will be 6:00 - 7:30 PM at the
Westbrook-Warren Church. Here's more detail:
This is a public meeting run by the Downtown Westbrook Coalition to discuss
the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) in downtown
Westbrook. Organizations like ours work because of community buy-in, which
includes invaluable feedback from the people that live and work here.
This analysis will also help with our application to become an accredited
Main Street program, which would be a huge honor for Westbrook. We want our
application to be rich with responses from the community, and part of that
will be this conversation about our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
and threats.
There is an online survey leading up to the event, which you are encouraged
to take whether you can attend the event or not. Find that survey here:

After the event, we will have one follow-up survey to rank the responses
collected at this meeting and on the first survey. We know this date might
be difficult for some to attend, being after the first day of school, so we
urge those who cannot attend to fill out both surveys.
