If a WSMAC member sees a Westbrook Citizen, about to walk across a busy 4
Way Intersection,
Improperly, should he/ she attempt to communicate with that person or
gently attempt to stop that person from starting across the street, with no
crosswalk? What if that person is an easily recognizable Middle Eastern
person in traditional clothing ? Do they understand English ?
I observed the above this morning at Bridge and Cumberland Streets at
Severino' s store.
The WSMAC faces a Huge challenge as we become more familiar in the eyes and
ears of Westbrook citizens, American born and Immigrant naturalized alike.
We can not to this by ourselves but will require the positive support of
Westbrook officials and Law enforcement to make our streets and crosswalks
safer for all.
