To WSMAC: The Van in the picture is from the Stroudwater Lodge Alzheimer's
Home off Spring Street. The driver, a petite Lady in her mid 60's? , with
a van load of Residents from Stroudwate Lodge, could not make the R / H
side of the Door close and latch . She could lock the Door but not enough
to disengage an electrical Interlock so she could place the Transmission in
Reverse or Drive. The Door opens to allow an electrical and hydraulic Ramp
to raise or lower to the Street with an occupied Wheelchair.
She said she had been experiencing problems with the Door all day. They had
visited the Walker Memorial Library and were leaving. I carry a small
stepladder in my Truck and was just tell enough on that to put some ummpph
into closing the Right Hand Side of the Door so it was flush with the left
hand side door and I also heard a " Click " - the Interlock Relay contact
working. She was then able to go to Reverse with the Transmission and the
Backup Audible Alarm started working too. Shev mentioned the Humidity
might be a culprit. Maybe some mechanical adjustments are needed.
