Thanks for the correction, Angela. As you probably figured out, I got that
from this morning's presentation by Jim, but the slide showed both, so I
wasn't sure which was which, and guessed wrong.

The passing on the right problem we have is on Main Street itself, in the
crosswalk that goes from Dunkin' over to the Baptist Church, which is next
door to where LeeLee lives. We had a close call ourselves on that after a
WSMAC meeting one night, ironically. People use the parking lane to pass on
the right. I suspect some other crosswalks have the same problem. I'm going
to show this to our Discover Downtown Westbrook Design Committee, who have
talked about trying to get together a demonstration project in Westbrook.

front of the middle and high school that I put up during BikeMaine 2018.
As you can see, the parking spaces were too close to the crosswalk, and
there were no safe landings. The rubber curb stops and the delineators were
to define some space for pedestrians.
It was a rainy day, and school got out just as I finished it up.  When the
principal saw kids crossing and cars stopping, he said that he wanted to
keep the materials and make it permanent because cars hadn't stopped for
kids crossing before this.

The curb stops would certainly help deter passing on the right. Looking at
google maps, doesn't look like much of a shoulder on Stroudwater, but might
want signage to alert any cyclist riding in the shoulder to take the travel
lane.
That was a complaint from some cyclists when a crosswalk demo in North
Yarmouth had curb stops in the shoulder.

Thank You, John !   The Crosswalk to the east bound lane of Main Street,
turning onto Spring Street in front of the Peoples United Bank is one of
the most notorious in Westbrook along with the west bound lane of Main
Street at Stroudwater.  Need to find out the vendor and Where that
Crosswalk is located.

Here's an excellent idea for the Stroudwater & Main crosswalk, and some
others, to prevent motorists from passing on the right when someone is
crossing. This is an inexpensive treatment that was facilitated by the
Bicycle Coalition of Maine as part of their Imagine People Here
