In terms of "interpretation" as it plays its role in psychoanalysis, the "verification " of the interpretation is in the manner in which it is taken up and incorporated into the life of the analysand. He or she need not (and in fact that would be counterproductive) nibble and chew and pick over its morsels. The validity of the verification of the interpretation in psychoanalysis, oddly enough, is (again the same words) its usefulness and how the life of the analysand is changed for the better by it. Period.
