You appear to be suggesting that we can't explain how it feels to be Bruce. That appears to be your thesis. And yet all day long people explain themselves to me. Where is the boundary that explanation cannot cross?
I'm suggesting that not only do I not know "what it is like to be Bruce", but I don't even know if there /is/ a "what it is like to be Bruce". And I'm also suggesting that it makes not one jot of difference to anything whether or not there is a "what it is like to be Bruce"(it has no application). People will continue to exhibit patterns of behavior (including reports of how they feel), and some of those patterns will be considered problematic (by themselves and/or by the standards of the culture in which they live), and behavior modification may or may not be pursued.
