This evening a Baird's Sandpiper and an American Golden Plover were feeding at Woodford's Ponds near Jim Falls in Chippewa County. This site is listed in Wisconin's Favorite Bird Haunts. Three horses were also there and didn't seem to bother the birds. (Last May, birders found Ruddy Turnstone, Semi-palmated Plover, Dunlin, and Short-billed Dowitcher among other birds at this tiny location.) Rory Cameron Chippewa Falls, Chippewa County "We come and go, but the land is always here. And the people who love it and understand it are the people who own it—for a little while."
