I found a Western Kingbird in Ashland County today, about 10 miles south of the
city of Ashland. It was flycatching roadside but very quickly vanished, hence
nothing more than some horrible doc shots at
https://ebird.org/wi/view/checklist/S57145327. Even if still not in the same ;
spot the surrounding landscape is great for open-country flycatchers (e.g.
another WEKI was found <2 miles away back in 2015). Location:

Another Western Kingbird was found in the Moquah Barrens of Bayfield County on
June 4. To my knowledge, these are the only two in the state this year,
although the UP of Michigan has had a very good year for them, and a few have
been found near Duluth and MN's north shore.
