First seen at Puckett's Pond, the bird then flew off to north over parking lot. By itself, I was able to get a brief look at the head and upper body, enough to note a uniform color (in the lighting I first observed bird in, it didn't look grey) and white eye ring. Best look actually came when the bird took flight and I was able to see the underwing patches. A less than satisfying look, but I'm just happy to not have to scramble up the icy trails at Devil's Lake later this year! Tom was scoping down by the beach and observed 2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 31 SANDERLINGS, 5 LOON SP., & 61 RED-BR MERGANSERS. Duck movement overall was moderate. Hundreds of PINE SISKINS were also flying south. Andrea Szymczak Waukesha, WI #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
