I checked along the walkway from the impoundment parking lot out to the
lighthouse and did not find it. I also went to Sheboygan hoping that it
might have gone there, but found only a single Dunlin for my only shorebird
of the day. Two other birders were covering the same areas I was, and as of
about 1:00 P.M. they hadn't found it either.

Chuck Sontag eBirded and photographed a PURPLE SANDPIPER along the Manitowoc
lakefront yesterday afternoon. I have no specific detail on the location but
knowing Chuck, it was somewhere between the river mouth and the impoundment.
Check those rocky shorelines!
