Made an early quiet 3 hour canoe trip down the Pine River this morning.
River was perhaps the highest level that we had ever canoed. So peaceful
with just a few early birds singing. Highlights included 15 Ruffed Grouse
drumming, many Yellow-breasted Sapsucker and Yellow-shafted Flicker tapping
away, 2 Winter Wren, 2 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 12 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, 3 Pine Warbler, 3 Purple Finch. We were the only
people on the river which made it so special.
