Ospreys have returned to old nest at Pensaukee. Woodcock and Snipe have started
displaying. There are thousands of divers along the shore from Little Suamico
north Oak Orchard, mouth of Pensaukee R. to Pecor Point (17 species), also
Pied-billed and Horned Grebes. A few Cormorants and White Pelicans hanging
about with Tree Swallows, Kingfishers on the River. Still have a large flock
of Goldfinches, a few Siskins, Purple & House Finches at the feeders which are
being dominated by Red-winged Blackbirds, grackles and Cowbirds. Hermit
Thrushes and Fox Sparrows have returned too.
