Hello,
I birded Wilson Park and came out with 55 species in two hours.
I could not believe the amount of THRUSHES that I saw! I had at LEAST
thirty! Most were Swainson's, but several were Gray-cheeked. They were
scattering every few feet as I walked through a wooded area that follows a
viaduct. Along that path, I also got a glimpse of a male HOODED and a male
MOURNING warbler. A male VEERY was singing his bubbly song and I heard the
CHUREEEE of a YELLOW BELLIED FLYCATCHER. Several RED-EYED VIREOS were
present plus a good amount of BLACKPOLL warblers, REDSTARTS, and at least
three SCARLET TANAGERS. The entire past week here in Milwaukee has been
absolutely incredible. I hope that everyone is enjoying spring migration!
I'm going to try and post to my blog again after nearly ten years. There's
just some pictures here today and I have to clean up the site.
