I birded the County Grounds this morning and the usual grassland birds were in evidence. Lots of Red-winged Blackbirds and Savannah Sparrows. Several Bobolinks and E. Meadowlarks. And in the trees at least 3 Orchard Orioles, as well as Warbling Vireos. Down by the newly created retention basin I even heard a Sora. Butterflies were good too: Monarchs, Am. Lady, Red Admiral, Pearl Crescent, Clouded Sulphur, and Spring Azure.. At least for now, this remains a lovely place to visit.
