The Merlins continue in Sheboygan. : ) Although they did not nest in our
backyard spruce tree this year, they still come "kek-kek-kekking" through
the neighborhood every day, and usually perch on the top of our spruce once
or twice each day. : ) What a treat! [For us, not for all the little
birds that feed and reside in our backyard--who quickly disappear when the
"kekking" starts!!!]
The Pelicans also continue in Sheboygan, on North Point. They are not there
all the time -- they come and go each day, probably going to wherever the
"fishing" is best during the day -- but at some point (usually in the
afternoon) they come soaring back in looooooong lines by the hundreds and
crowd the gulls off North Point. They are surprisingly amicable as they are
scrunched together while preening and dozing. Some float lazily in the
water around the Point. : ) And when the Pelicans return, so do the people
of all ages -- to admire them and take photos. : )
