Hi All, Another wonderful day of banding at the Zoo...not as much variety, but an excellent day nonetheless. Species banded include: Dare I say it...oh yeah...Kentucky warbler (stunning male), Nashville warbler, American goldfinch, palm warbler, house wrens, gray catbird, 19 white-throated sparrows (they're everywhere!), ovenbird, Northern cardinals, and American robin. Species observed: blue-gray gnatcatcher, blue jay, American crow, red-bellied woodpecker, and a mixed flock of warblers (black & whites, yellow-rumps, Nashvilles, yellow palm, black-throated green, and blackburnian). Next potential banding date: Tue. and/or Wed. May 11/12. Cheers for now, Mickey Michelene M. O'Connor Zookeeper Milwaukee County Zoological Gardens 10001 W. Bluemound Rd.
