Checked John Muir Trails yesterday morning without success, but his morning I heard him right away while along the Lime Kiln Trail (aka LYME Kiln Trail - watch for deer ticks). I originally found a singing male at this site in 2008, so this will be the 5th season one has been detected there! Either it's the same "supercentenarian" individual, different individual altogether, or offspring from a previous breeding season. In any case, it's pretty exciting :-) A nice selection of resident birds is already in place at the trail system, including a MOURNING WARBLER, which was heard both yesterday and today.
