[wisb] Re: Ice out on Madison lakes

Our bird class visited Nine Springs this morning; at least one loon was spotted 
on Lake Monona from John Nolen Drive on the way there.

Nine Springs was relatively quiet in terms of bird abundance, but we did see:

Canada Goose    60
Mallard 20
Northern Shoveler       12
Northern Pintail        2
Green-winged Teal       8
Lesser Scaup    2
Bufflehead      8
Hooded Merganser        2
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Sandhill Crane  6
Killdeer        6
Ring-billed Gull        30
Herring Gull    2
Red-bellied Woodpecker  2
Downy Woodpecker        1
American Crow   4
Black-capped Chickadee  2
American Robin  6
European Starling       30
American Tree Sparrow   6
Song Sparrow    30
Northern Cardinal       4
Red-winged Blackbird    X
Brown-headed Cowbird    8
American Goldfinch      8
