I took my girls to Horicon yesterday and was very surprised by the lack of ducks (3 species; mallards, buffleheads and common golden-eyes). We did get to see an eagle and great horned owl nest, with birds in both. We also saw approximately 200 Sandhills and one whooper. Very exciting for me. The other surprise was how many kestrels we saw out on the wires. Very happy to see so many. The spring bug has got me good. Bring on the warblers! David Flores S.
