Tom & I traveled to the park this morning - finding good numbers of the expected fall passerine species (including many flyover PINE SISKINS & PURPLE FINCHES). "Bonus" birds were single BLACK-THR GREEN WARBLER & COMMON YELLOWTHROAT in the woods and fields, two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS on the beach, and one BONAPARTE'S GULL on the water with the Ring-billed's. While it was early in the day, some migratory hawks were seen taking advantage of favorable winds: 2 COOPER'S, 9 SHARP-SHINNED, 6 TURKEY VULTURES, & 1 MERLIN.
