Good Thursday morning folks ----  made my usual cruise through the town
this a.m.
Starting at North High after dropping off the kids, I checked out the
neighborhood gang
of robins by the west parking lot, where they feed on the crabapples and made
an est'd
count of 70 birds, with a few waxwings thrown in. No Bohems, though. A lot of
the robins
were either whisper singing or just fully singing, which sounded pretty nice to
me.
Next stop was at the Senior Center where the PB grebe is still present
despite the river
being wide open.  100+ mallards, several gulls, crows and a pair of immy eagles
were there.
3rd and last stop had a gull in question.  At Campbell Creek at the end of
Knapp St. there
were a good handful of gulls mostly Herrings but this one 1st yr specimen was
clearly smaller
and just chocolate brown, black bill and flesh-colored legs.  Got home, grabbed
the book
and wondered about the possibilities of a Les. Black-back.  Would defiinitely
need either
A)  Tom Schultz, or B) a good camera.  So at this point,  it's ''odd gull" sp.
 Good luck to
anyone in the area checking these places out.
