Jim Otto reported hearing the Chuck-will's-widow near the "usual" spot on Staffon/Bartos Rd. last night, but he said it was much farther from the road than it has been - he had to cup his ears to hear it. After that, he ran his Nightjar Survey route, which runs just west of there, and had 16 "Whips", but no Nighthawks, owls, or other nocturnal birds, which he said is unusual for that route (he did mention that the frogs were very loud & were drowning out a lot of other sounds.)
