Spent a few days in Michigan's upper peninsula and was able to get out one day
to do some birding. Finches are definitely moving down from the north so I'm
hopeful for a decent year at my feeders near Birchwood at some point. I've
already had some siskins and purple finches. I saw many different flocks of
redpolls in the U.P. and some pine siskins as well as a couple of pine
grosbeaks. Also found two flocks at different locations of Bohemian waxwings
one flock containing 100+ birds feeding on fruit trees on a property just north
of the town of Ironwood. Also had a second hand report of Bohemian waxwings
from a fellow birder in the town of Gile near the flowage. She also noted a
few Evening grosbeaks now coming to the feeders. Will be interesting to see
what if anything this next cold snap will bring.

Regards
