As of this morning: EABL- 85 fledge, 20 young, 4 eggs TRES- 32 fledge, 144 young (ouch!), 20 eggs If you are a new monitor, or a veteran for that matter, and are unaware of "taping" here is the skinny. AFTER first brood fledging of EABLs, wrap the box with duct tape closing off the entrance hole. The bluebird parents are both going to feed their young for ~a week and will be away from the box. During that time any number of other cavity nesters will attempt to usurp that box. At the end of the week, simply remove the tape. By that time the female bluebird will be ready to nest anew (hopefully!). This is a technique to increase bluebird production obviously. If that is disagreeable to you, then don't wrap. It REALLY does help though. Tom Schaefer Hartford Washington County#################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
