There are 100 more days in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon birding period, so if
you want in on the fun, it's time to get busy! We still have teams going out in
the field, and there's plenty of time to send a fundraising email or two and go
count birds in your favorite spots--maybe give your Atlassing, eBirding, or
other citizen science project even more impact. Find everything you need at
WIBirdathon.org on our Get Started page.
We're currently at 82% of our fundraising goal for the Bird Protection Fund.
Donations to the Birdathon will be accepted through June, and maybe into July,
because I'll have to settle pledges and many people are on vacation this time
of year. Not to go all NPR pledge drive on you, but when I think about how
birds have enriched my life and helped me through difficult days, I want to
give back to them too. Maybe you already to contribute to national,
international, or local organizations, and that's awesome. Maybe you don't have
a lot of discretionary income, and give your time and talents by teaching,
restoring habitat, and doing citizen science, which is even more awesome. But
if you haven't found a home for your good intentions, please consider one of
the worthy teams in the Birdathon. Find them at WIBirdathon.org.
And thanks to all those worthy teams that are doing the tough work of birding
for a cause! Send me your updates and photos!
Good birding, all.
