Curious as to what the oriole was eating, Dan. Is it a suet eater? When not guzzling sugar water, jelly or oranges, my orioles appreciated mealworms - an expensive proposition to be sure - during the cooler periods. Betsy Abert, So. There has been an immature male Baltimore Oriole reported coming to a bird feeding station in the city of Marathon City, about 8 miles west of Wausau. This morning I finally talked to the home owner on the telephone, and a short time later I was off to see this bird. After I arrived, the home owner said I just missed it. So she invited me in and we waited for it to return, and after about 30 minutes it did return. I had great views of it. I don't think this bird will be leaving anytime soon, so if it stays and makes it into January, I'll repost it again.
