I was part of a gathering of birders Sunday night (Aug. 30th) anticipating the return of the Goose Pond Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. We were (mis) treated to a distant look after 7:15 PM of a flying wader that for all the world appeared to the bird though unconfirmed. It promptly plopped down into the hillside prairie across the water on the far south side of Kampen Rd.never to rise again to our darkened dismay. Any recent reports? -- --------------------------------------------- Joe Schaufenbuel 5676 Regent St. Stevens Point Portage County, WI 54481 (715) 345-2788 "The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!'
