Roughly 68 Snowy Owls have been reported from 36 Wisconsin counties since Oct
15, compared to 2 as of this date last year and none until Nov 15 during the
2013-14 season. New reports have tapered off a bit in the past week, though
more may be on the way in the weeks ahead. Body condition for at least some
birds remains a concern and observers are asked to enjoy the birds from a
respectful distance. If you think a bird may be sick or injured, contact your
local DNR office or wildlife rehabilitator for assistance.
