[windows2000] Re: usrmgr - cannot find dc

Thanks for the suggestions...

I installed WINS on this PDC and pointed it back to itself.  The problem
still exists, though.  I cannot open User Manager or Server Manager.
I'm able to ping by ip and computername, though.

Any other thoughts?  I noticed I'm getting event ID 3096 on bootup, a
netlogon message about not being able to find a DC.

That is exactly what I would think...or if the Wins is on the same
server as the DC you should still have an entry in Network settings
pointing back to itself...a lot of people leave this out. JK

Check WINS.  DC record may be screwed up.
