The /flushdns should work... You can try stopping and restarting the dns =
client service. Otherwise, your DNS server isn't updating... Did you =
reload the zone and update server after making your change?

Subject: [windows2000] /flushdns - Nope

Hi list,

Can anyone explain to me what the point of "ipconfig /flushdns" is? I
mean, any time I run that, my DNS cache is NOT flushed. It gets my
goat. Let's see here...

/flushdns Purges the DNS Resolver cache.
/displaydns Display the contents of the DNS Resolver Cache.

So, you'd think that if I did a /flushdns and then did a /displaydns,
the displaydns'd be empty. No, it's not. And although I made changes
in my DNS server for one particular host, my computer still resolves the
name to the old IP, and I still see it when I do a /displaydns. It's
not like I'm using WINS or anything, and this host is not a machine that
the browser service would have picked up or anything. It's just a name
that I use to access one of my intranets.

Thanks,
