Oh my. Oh my. My district is currently running NDS/GroupWise but that's cause it's what we had when all of our current staff was hired. We just haven't had the budget or time to move to AD/Exchange. That *IS* a step in the wrong direction. Move TO AD, not to NDS. Damn... I would at least wait until the next (linux) version of NetWare comes out... If it's great then move to it, otherwise move everyone to AD. :( Andrew -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rod Falanga Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2004 9:33 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] What would happen if Exchange were uninstalled from our network At work we have a Windows 2000 Server network with Active Directory. We also use MS Exchange 2000 for our email server and collaboration. We have also been using Outlook as our email client. Well, our parent company uses GroupWise and I believe they have every intention of making us use it. (They have been going around and installing the GW client, which then makes it impossible to get back into Outlook and get anything out of it, like your contacts, schedule, old emails, etc.) They haven't yet uninstalled Exchange, but I believe they want to. I have heard that Exchange 2000 is deeply integrated into AD. What I would like to know is, if they just walk up to the server and uninstall Exchange, will that cause any damage to AD? ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor StressedPuppy.com Games Feeling stressed out?
