I believe that WOL is a standard so any WOL capable software should be able
to handle it.

I did have that much figured out. Where could I find software to do =
that? Is it third party stuff like Tivoli or something from the NIC =
manufacturer (Intel in this case)

You'll need software running on your network that acts as a WOL =
controller.
It doesn't just wake up when it detects traffic (as I've spent hours
explaining to users lately).

I have a new Windows 2000 Pro workstation that has Wake on LAN support. =
=3D
That is a feature I have always ignored but I would like to be able to =
=3D
turn this machine on remotely.=3D20

How exactly do I use Wake on LAN to actually make it work or am I =3D
misunderstanding what it does.

Thanks!

Greg
