Is it a primary DC, or a member server? You state that it is both in your e-mail. If it is a PDC and you upgrade to 2000 or 2003, it will want to install Active Directory and you'll have yourself a new domain. You say that this domain is going to be extinct, so you may not want to upgrade and may want to consider a reinstall. Then you have to think about what you want to happen to the accounts in that domain (if it is a PDC). If you want to keep the accounts, you'll have to migrate them to the other domain. If you don't care about the accounts, then again, you're looking at a reinstall. John >>> Eduardo.Freitas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 3/3/2004 7:37:01 AM >>> Hello Guys, I have an NT 4 machine which is a primary dc for a domain which is going to be extinct. That machine will be a Win 2k/2k3 member server of another domain. Any thoughts on upgrading or just reinstalling the machine? Any real reasons to fear an upgrade? Even on just a member server? Thanks a lot?
