[windows2000] Task Manager Question

When you look at Task Manager Processes tab, it shows Mem Usage for program
"X" at 28,632K or whatever.
Should the process continue to be listed even after the program has been
shut down? Or does the process list refresh after a reboot?
Just wondering.
