On some machine somewhere (a windows server somewhere) use the add a printer
wizard to add a new local printer with a "Standard TCP/IP port." Give the
wizard the IP address of the printer.
Then just share the "local" printer that you just created, and have everyone
connect to that share.

According to the directions I downloaded some time ago from Microsoft, if I
want to set up a client who would use terminal services, to use a network
printer, then I have to do something like this:
Net use lpt1: \\server_name\share_name /persistent:yes
That works great, so long as the network printer is some share on the
network. Well, I now have a situation in which some of my clients have
NetWare for a network, and the system administrators have set up all of the
network printers using their own static IP addresses. I just don't know how
to fit something like that into the little command line above.
So, bottom line: how do I assign a network printer which has a static IP
address assigned to it, to a LPT port in the user's printer configuration,
so that they can both print to that printer from whatever program they're
using and from any program they would run from the terminal services'
client? (These users are using Windows 2000 Professional on their
desktops.)
