I have a network that is having an unusual problem. They are doing a gradual upgrade to XP from 98. The server is Win2k. Basically, they were having a problem with some of their software not working correctly with the server. They got on the phone with tech support, and the problem was server timeouts. When they ping the server from the 2 computers that have been upgraded to windows xp, it takes about 5 seconds for the first response to come back, and then the rest come back as normal. What would be the cause of this? All of the infrastructure is the same as before, and there are other XP boxes on the network that are working fine. Any suggestions? ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor SeamlessPlanet.com Register your domain name for as low as $7.75 per year!
