what time do you roll them out? I start ours at noon when everyone goes to
lunch.

I thought you couldn't use SUS on XP until SP1 was installed so why even bother.

I can answer my own question now - If you are running SUS SP1 it now allows
you to roll out Service Packs. Just be careful, if you approve the SPs they
will be rolled out to all your SUS clients.

I will need to change our client update timings since Win2k SP4 takes about
10 minutes to install, as opposed to the few seconds of background activity
for a few patches. Users are not going to be happy about that in the middle
of the day!

Subject: [windows2000] SUS - Service Pack downloads

Hi all

Just to let you know, our SUS Server downloaded Win2k SP4 and XP SP1 (network
install versions) last night. My understanding was that we would need the
new version of SUS in order to roll out SPs - does anyone know for sure?

I don't mind updates being applied automatically, but we need to be careful
with Service Packs. Having said that, the fact it can do it is great.
