Also, you can specify different types of values with regedt32 than you
can
with regedit. I wish they would just merge the two, I hate having to go
into regedit to search for something then go to regedt32 to set the
value.

They access the same information. The functionality is different.
The major difference:
REGEDIT has a find feature, REGEDT32 does not.
REGEDT32 has the ability to set permissions on reg keys and values,
REGEDIT
does not.
